This day the Scalloped Potatoes led the flavor. August 2011

As an accompaniment to the strong tasting potatoes and green beans we made poached chicken with an Asian Light Coconut Cream Sauce. The flavor did not interfere much with the strong potato dish. The combination worked quite well.

These were our Scalloped Potatoes with Aged Cheddar Cheese. The cheese really gave out an amazing finishing flavor and I could feel the layers of potatoes which were whole when I cut in to them.

This was the Scalloped version. We baked it over medium heat, it got this golden crust on top, Delicious flavor.

Today we had Green Beans as our Veg. of the day. We made it in two different ways: Scalloped and Sauteed in some high smoke point oil sweated in shallots first. This was the Sauteed version. 08/2011
